Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is also known as Sardar Patel and 'Iron Man of India'. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel died on 15 December 1950. 

He was the first Deputy Prime Minister of India. On this occasion, PM Modi has paid tribute to him on Twitter.
